The Scattering of the Great Tribe

The Scattering of the Great Tribe

Long ago, all the Wolfos in the world were united in one tribe, the Great Tribe. All was in balance and harmony among them. The pups were raised strong and healthy, the borders of their lands were guarded, the hunting grounds were monitored so that there would always be enough animals for everyone to hunt, and the elders watched over it all. One young Wolfos, however, had hungers that could not be sated. He wished to slay and eat as many animals as he wanted. He wished to range beyond the Wolfos lands, exploring and hunting everything. He wished to live freely, without bounds. Soon, others began to think like him as well. The elders warned them that upsetting the balance the Wolfos had achieved would wreak havoc. Hunting without limit would cause animal populations to die out. Ranging beyond the Wolfos lands would cause conflict with the other races. A certain wild fierceness is good, but it must be tempered with wisdom and reflection. The young Wolfos and his group did not heed the elders’ warning though. They struck out into the world and formed their own tribe. The other races came to the elders and demanded to know why they had sent a pack of Wolfos ranging through their lands. Opinions among the Wolfos differed about what they should do. Even the elders began arguing amongst themselves. Some of the other races feared that the Wolfos were preparing for war and so sent their own armies to watch the borders. Some Wolfos took offense at this. Different groups of Wolfos with similar opinions about what to do formed. Some attacked the other races. Chaos ensued. Some fought, some ran, and some negotiated. Ever since, the Wolfos have been scattered across the world in different tribes.
